The Work-Study Certificate programme for the Information Communications & Technology (ICT) sector is an 18-month work-study programme leading to the part-time Diploma in Infocomm & Digital Media (ICT Systems, Services & Support).

This programme is targeted primarily at fresh ITE graduates who want to deepen their skills and knowledge in the areas of ICT systems, services and support. With Singapore’s Smart Nation drive, there is a huge demand for graduates with skillsets in these areas.

Upon completing the 3 skills-based Modular Certificates (MC) under this programme, participants should be able to:

a) set-up, configure, verify, secure, and deploy networks and operating systems;
b) design, install, and configure wired and wireless networks with client administration;
c) apply fundamental service principles and practices to manage and deliver high quality IT services support through structured on-the-job training; and
d) apply the knowledge and skills of emerging network and system technologies to manage enterprise-level network infrastructure. 

The job positions offered under this programme are:
- Associate System Administrator^[1]
- Technical Support Associate^[1]

Graduates may look forward to wage increment and role expansion in their workplace, subject to their work performance.

Participants are required to complete a total of 3 skills-based Modular Certificates (MCs). Each MC can be completed in 1 semester, i.e. 6 months. A certificate will be issued once the requirements for each MC are met. Participants must complete the course within 18 months.

1. Modular Certificate in ICT Essentials
a) Data Communications and Networking
b) Computer and Operating Systems
c) Basic IT Security

2. Modular Certificate in Mobile & Systems Management
a) Enterprise Networking
b) Client Platform Administration and Management
c) Mobile Device Management

3. Modular Certificate in IT Infrastructure & Service Management
a) IT Infrastructure Management
b) IT Service Desk Management
c) IT Service Design and Delivery

Upon completing the programme, participants have the option to complete the remaining 2 MCs to obtain the part-time Diploma in Infocomm & Digital Media (ICT Systems, Services & Support):

4. Modular Certificate in Network & Systems Security
a) Servers Administration and Security
b) Internetworking Technologies
c) Security Operations and Analysis

5. Modular Certificate in Network & Systems Technologies
a) Cloud Computing and Security
b) IoT Network Technology
c) Virtual Desktop Technology

The assessment framework will include a range of coursework components such as written and practical tests, case studies, assignments and projects.

Singaporeans or Singapore Permanent Residents who are within three years of either graduation from the ITE or the Operationally Ready Date (ORD) for National Servicemen from the following full-time programmes are eligible to apply:

- NITEC in Info-Communications Technology (Networking & Systems Administration)
- NITEC in Info-Communications Technology (Mobile Networks & Applications)
- NITEC in Info-Communications Technology (Cloud Computing)
- Higher NITEC in Mobile Unified Communications
- HIgher NITEC in e-Business Programming
- Higher NITEC in Information Technology
- Higher NITEC in Cyber & Network Security
- Higher NITEC in Business Information System
- Other relevant IT/technology-related NITEC or Higher NITEC programmes

For NITEC graduates, there is a minimum GPA requirement of 2.0.
For Higher NITEC graduates, there is no GPA requirement.

Full Course Fees for WSCert (excluding GST)*: $11,286.00

MOE subsidy will not be applicable for students who repeat a module or semester.
Fees payable is based on per MC.
The course fees will be reviewed by MOE on an annual basis and adjusted accordingly.
