The Singapore robotics scene received a major boost with the government’s 2016 budget announcement of an additional S$450 million committed to the National Robotics Programme over the next three years. This package would support robotics development and deployment across healthcare, construction, manufacturing and logistics. This 12-month Work-Study Post-Diploma Programme aims to deepen and equip participants with the relevant skills to meet the industry demands for trained specialists in robotics and control & automation. Upon completing the course, graduates will be equipped to undertake the following engineering functions:
a) installation, commissioning, and maintenance of robotic and automation equipment;
b) troubleshooting of automation equipment, and
c) application of robot for collaboration in workplace
At the entry level, the job positions are Associate Engineers. Upon completing the course under the Work-Study Programme, graduates can look forward to role expansion in their work scope. They can also look forward to upgrading their knowledge and skills through further Continuous Education Training (CET) and executive programmes offered by local Institutes of Higher Learning.
