Technology is the main driver across industry sectors. As companies undergo digital transformation, they are continuously seeking talents who possess technical skillsets as well as business acumens to assume roles affecting the bottom line.
Jointly launched by Temasek Polytechnic and Singapore Management University (SMU) Academy, this 12-month Work-Study Post-Diploma programme leading to the Specialist Diploma in Business Development in Technology is designed to “top-up” a technology graduate’s skills with Marketing & Innovation as well as Business Development strategies in the classroom with the mentorship provided by Work-Study Programme partners. This training serves to widen the job roles of technology graduates as well as their career prospects in technology.
The programme aims to give polytechnic graduates in technology the relevant skills in two areas:
1) Leveraging technology in the sales and marketing of products and services.
2) Business development of technology products and services.
Upon completing the course, graduates should be able to:
a) Launch, execute and measure digital marketing campaigns.
b) Create and promote digital contents;
c) Construct business proposals grounded in sound technological foundations, and
d) Present, demonstrate, cross sell and up sell technology solutions
Graduates will gain the requisite skills and knowledge to be digital marketing executives, business development executives and customer-facing technologists for the organisations with whom they are employed at the end of the programme. It also opens up new career options in pre-sales consultancy and business development.
